Bishop Cornel Damian is the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.
After studying at the Roman Catholic Theological Institute of Iași, he was ordained a priest in 1986 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Bucharest.
He obtained a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
In 2003, he was made auxiliary bishop by Saint Pope John Paul II, and then consecrated Bishop of Iziriana at the Cathedral of Bucharest by Archbishop Ioan Robu on December 8, 2003.
Après des études à l’Institut théologique catholique romain de Iași, il fut ordonné prêtre en 1986 en la cathédrale Saint-Joseph de Bucarest.
Il obtint le doctorat en droit canonique à l’Université pontificale grégorienne de Rome.
En 2003, il fut fait évêque auxiliaire par le pape saint Jean-Paul II, puis consacré évêque de Iziriana en la cathédrale de Bucarest par l’Archevêque Ioan Robu le 8 décembre 2003.
